Welcome to Gananoque and the Beautiful 1000 Islands!

Whether you’re joining us here at the Thousand Islands Playhouse for the first time or have worked with us before, we’re so happy that you’ve decided to make the trip to Eastern Ontario.

We urge you to find the time during your stay here to get out into the islands or meet some of the wonderful people working in this small community. Rural theatres like this one are so interwoven into the fabric of the towns in which we operate, and we’re lucky to have been supported by local people and businesses for more than 40 years.

What has remained constant throughout is the company’s mission to provide high-quality theatre in a rural summer setting, and to ensure that Theatre plays an integral role in the lives of people in this region.

Administration and Office Details

Internet: Computers in the Box Office, Administration, Stage Management, and Production Offices are not available for public use. However, WIFI is available in all our venues; a password will be provided to you onsite.

Photocopies and Faxes: Use of the photocopier/scanner in the Administration and Production Offices should be arranged through Marta ([email protected]) or your Stage Manager. A fax machine is available both for outgoing and incoming faxes.

Mail: Outgoing work-related mail can be deposited at the Administration office. For personal mail, there is a Canada Post box at the corner of Charles and South St. in front of the Firehall Theatre. Incoming mail for artists will be given to Stage Management for distribution.

Payroll: Artist payroll is issued via direct deposit on Thursdays by 6 PM and arrives in your account by Friday at 9 AM. Preference for cheques or other questions regarding payroll should be directed to Marta ([email protected])

Complimentary Tickets: All artists are offered four complimentary tickets to their production. These tickets can be booked through a Box Office code and must be reserved under the artist’s name. Details about this comp code will be sent via email.

We have a wonderful Front of House and Box Office staff who are a huge part of the team. Some of them are new this year and some of them have been here for 10 seasons. Introduce yourself. You’re going to see a lot of them!

Our volunteers are super vital to our organization running smoothly. They are all friendly and willing to give their time in support of what we do. They are great!

We are fortunate to have a large Patron Members Club and Subscriber base. The Patron Members Club are those who – on top of purchasing tickets – make an annual donation to the theatre. Subscribers purchase blocks of tickets to our whole season.

Our Board of Directors is made up of a group of eleven very dedicated community members who give of their time and energy to support our efforts.
